Why September 23
Soulworks timed the launch to Sea Otter Awareness Week, which covers the last full week of September. The game is the studio's own project — Soulworks Interactive is both developer and publisher — after roughly two years of development.
Consoles and other platforms
The Steam page and the official press kit list PC only, with additional platforms marked TBA. Console editions are the most common question about the release, and as of September 19 there is no announcement to report. If you see a store listing for another platform, treat it as unconfirmed until Soulworks says otherwise.
Demo status
The demo was a separate Steam app, a roughly 500 MB download covering the opening of the game. It went live in November 2025, was expanded heavily on June 1, 2026 for Steam Next Fest, and was delisted on August 26, 2026 ahead of launch.
That delisting came with the news that matters most: demo save files will not carry over to the full game. The studio's reason was practical — the early game changed enough that old saves were no longer compatible, and the new prologue and tool mechanics would be skipped anyway.
Before launch: what is worth doing
- Wishlist the game on Steam so the release notification arrives on day one.
- If you still have the demo installed, use it to learn the controls — the layout carries over even though the save does not.
- Read the demo guide if you want a head start on the first quest chain.
